Cooper’s Hawk – Accipiter cooperii
Size averages 35-50 cm
Cooper’s Hawks are ‘true hawks’. Accipiters or “Bird Hawks” hunt at treetop level and below. They have small heads and short, rounded wings and long tail feathers. Photographed September 29, 2008
